ADA Handle, CNS, and Unstoppable Domains support in Yoroi Wallet.

In our ongoing efforts to enhance the ease of sending funds through Yoroi, we've introduced a new feature that allows users to make transactions using web3 domains. Think of a web3 domain as a simplified version of your wallet address, providing a user-friendly way for you to send and receive funds securely.

To make this process seamless, our domain resolver acts as a link between easily readable domain names and the more intricate blockchain addresses associated with them.

Beyond the standard use of wallet addresses (addr1...), Yoroi users now have the flexibility to choose from three web3 domain options:

  • ADA Handle. It's a standardized NFT that developers and users can use to associate an address with a custom and human-readable address. An example of a handle is $_custom_name_.
  • CNS (Cardano Name Service). CNS is a domain name service built on the Cardano network, facilitating the registration and management of domain names ending with the .ada suffix (e.g. _custom_name.ada_).
  • Unstoppable Domains. These are new extensions (similar to .com or .net) launched as smart contracts on public blockchains.
