How do I log out of Yoroi desktop extension?

The Yoroi browser extension does not have a dedicated “log out” or “lock” button. Instead, access to your funds is protected by your wallet password or hardware wallet and by the security of your device and browser session.

Even if someone can open the Yoroi extension and see your balances, they cannot send ADA or tokens without:

  • The correct wallet password, or
  • Physical access to, and confirmation on, your connected hardware wallet (Ledger/Trezor).

This means simply viewing the extension is not enough to transfer funds.

To protect your wallet when you are away from your computer:

  • Lock your operating system user session (for example, Windows + L on Windows, Control + Command + Q on macOS), so others cannot open your browser or extensions.
  • Use a strong, unique password for your Yoroi wallet and, if possible, a hardware wallet for an extra layer of protection.

What if I want a full “log out”?

If you require strict “log out” behavior (so that the wallet is no longer present in the extension):

  • You can remove the wallet from the extension and later restore it using your recovery phrase.
  • Only do this if you have your recovery phrase correctly backed up and understand that the phrase is the only way to restore the wallet.

In everyday use, locking your device and using a strong password or hardware wallet provides sufficient protection for most users.
