Yoroi & Midnight: How to participate in Scavenger Mine (Phase 2)

What is it?

Scavenger Mine is the second claim phase of the NIGHT token distribution. It’s **open to everyone - **even if you weren’t eligible in phase 1 (Glacier Drop). You’ll connect a wallet and complete simple tasks during daily cycles to earn a share of that day’s rewards


Before You Start
  1. Make sure your wallet is restored or connected in the Yoroi extension.
  2. Use the Midnight Portal (not the Yoroi UI)

Scavenger Mine is not supported directly inside Yoroi like Phase 1. You will go to the Midnight Portal to connect your wallet.

  1. Anyone can participate

Eligibility is not limited to Phase-1 wallets.

  1. Check the browser permission for Yoroi

In your browser’s extension settings, ensure Yoroi is allowed to read data on all websites so it can connect to the Midnight Portal.


Step-by-Step

Step 1: Open the Midnight Portal

Step 2: Connect to Yoroi

Click Get Started, pick Yoroi from the list, and click Continue.


Step 3: Pick an usused address

Pick an unused address from the list, it can be the first empty one. Click Confirm.

Step 4: Confirm the destination address

Double-check the address and click Next.

Important: Save your Scavenger Mine destination address**


Scavenger Mine uses Yoroi’s “get unused addresses” API call to choose the destination address from your Yoroi Extension wallet. Because Yoroi is a multi-address wallet, the address you pick can later become used as you make transactions. When that happens, it disappears from the “unused addresses” list shown in the Midnight Portal.


This is expected behavior, but it can be confusing and may cause issues if you don’t remember which address you used.


To avoid problems, always save the mining address you use for Scavenger Mine:


  1. Export / screenshot the address from the address list (see Screenshot 1), or
  2. In the Scavenger Mine app, press “Reset session”, then copy the mining address that appears and press “Cancel” (see Screenshot 2).


Keep this address somewhere safe and always reuse the same destination address for your Scavenger Mine participation.



Step 5: Accept token end user terms

Read the terms, scroll down to the bottom, tick the box to confirm that you have read and understood the Glacier Drop terms and conditions for this claim. Click Accept and sign.

Step 6: Sign the message

You will now get a Yoroi DApp Connector pop up. You will need to enter your walelt password (that you use to sign transactions) to finish the process.

Troubleshooting
  • Can’t Connect Wallet? Refresh the page and try again; verify the Yoroi extension is allowed to read data on all websites.
  • Signature Fails? Make sure you’re entering the correct Yoroi wallet password (or confirming on Ledger) and that your wallet is unlocked.
  • Safety Reminder: Use only official Midnight/Yoroi links. Never enter or share your recovery phrase anywhere.
