How to connect a Trezor hardware wallet to Yoroi?

Yoroi Extension lets you connect Trezor hardware wallets (Model T, Safe 3, or Safe 5) to securely manage your ADA.

Before you start

  • Make sure you have the latest version of Yoroi. In principle, browser extensions are updated automatically but you can also update them manually in your browser's settings.
  • Initialize your Trezor in Trezor Suite and ensure the firmware is up to date.
  • Close any unnecessary browser extensions (ad blockers, VPNs, privacy tools) that might interfere.

How to connect

  1. Open Yoroi Extension and click Connect hardware wallet.
  2. Pick Trezor Hardware wallet.
  3. Follow the prerequisites shown, then click Next > Connect.
  4. You'll be redirected to connect.trezor.io—unlock your Trezor, confirm the connection, and allow Yoroi to export the public key.
  5. Return to Yoroi, optionally rename your wallet, then click Save.
  6. Your Trezor wallet now appears in the Dashboard.

Note: Connect your Trezor for all transactions except receiving funds.

Troubleshooting issues using Trezor

  • Firmware check: Verify Trezor firmware and Yoroi Extension are latest versions.
  • Interference: Disable VPNs, firewalls, antivirus, ad blockers, or privacy extensions temporarily.
  • Passphrase: Ensure you're using the correct Trezor passphrase (if any).
  • Trezor Bridge: Uninstall any standalone Trezor Bridge (deprecated)—it conflicts with modern connections.
  • Trezor Suite: Keep Trezor Suite open in the background while using Yoroi.
