What is it?

Scavenger Mine is the second claim phase of the NIGHT token distribution. It’s open to everyone - even if you weren’t eligible in phase 1 (Glacier Drop). You’ll connect a wallet and complete simple tasks during daily cycles to earn a share of that day’s rewards

Before You Start

Make sure your wallet is restored or connected in the Yoroi extension.
Use the Midnight Portal (not the Yoroi UI) Scavenger Mine is not supported directly inside Yoroi like Phase 1. You will go to the Midnight Portal to connect your wallet.
Anyone can participate Eligibility is not limited to Phase-1 wallets.
Check the browser permission for Yoroi In your browser’s extension settings, ensure Yoroi is allowed to read data on all websites so it can connect to the Midnight Portal.

Step-by-Step

Step 1: Open the Midnight Portal https://sm.midnight.gd/

Step 2: Connect to Yoroi Click Get Started, pick Yoroi from the list, and click Continue.

Step 3: Pick an usused address Pick an unused address from the list, it can be the first empty one. Click Confirm. Step 4: Confirm the destination address Double-check the address and click Next.

How to connect a Ledger hardware wallet to Yoroi?

Before you start, make sure your devices are ready. Here are some key points to check:

You have the latest version of Yoroi. In principle, browser extensions are updated automatically but you can also update them manually in your browser's settings.
You have connected your device in Ledger Live and downloaded the Cardano app.
Your Ledger is up to date. To upgrade, you should update your firmware through Ledger Live first, then update the Cardano app.

At this point, close Ledger Live and make sure to keep it closed at all times when using Yoroi as it can conflict with Yoroi and result in having issues using your Ledger to manage your ADA.

Now, open Yoroi and go to Connect hardware wallet > Cardano > Ledger Hardware wallet.

Then you'll see the following prerequisites to successfully connect your Ledger.

Cardano ADA app must be installed on the Ledger device.
Cardano ADA app must remain open on the Ledger device.
Your computer must remain connected to the Internet throughout the process.
The Ledger device must remain connected to your computer throughout the process.

Click Next and make sure the Cardano ADA app is open on the Ledger device. This process shares the Cardano public key with Yoroi.

I have lost my password. How to reset it?

To reset your password, you'll need to restore your wallet using the recovery phrase. This will involve removing the current wallet instance. If you're unsure about your recovery phrase, we recommend testing it on a different browser or device first to confirm it's correct. Alternatively, you can begin the restoration process, and if you receive a message stating that the wallet is already restored, this indicates that the recovery phrase is correct.

Once you've verified that your recovery phrase is correct, go to Settings > Wallet > Remove wallet (if you're using the extension, scroll to the bottom of the page if you don't see the option.) Remove the current copy of the wallet from your device.

How can I participate in governance through Yoroi?

To participate in governance, open your wallet and go to the Governance tab.

Delegate to a DRep: In this case, you are delegating your voting power to a trusted DRep allowing them to make decisions on your behalf. When selecting a DRep, prioritize reliability, community engagement, and alignment with your values. Look for consistent performance, active involvement in the ecosystem, and proposals that resonate with your vision for Cardano's growth.

To choose a Cardano DRep, find someone whose mission and values align with your own, and check for active community involvement. Reviewing their past decisions (if available) can give insight into their approach. Look for clear communication, relevant expertise, and support from the community to help guide your choice.

Abstain: This option means you are choosing not to cast a vote on all proposals until you decide otherwise.
No Confidence: You are expressing a lack of trust in proposals

First, make sure you download Yoroi only from official sources. Here are the links to extension stores for most browsers: Chrome (also for Brave and Opera), Edge.

This simple tutorial will go over the step-by-step process to add your Yoroi Wallet to Chrome. Here is the link to the Chrome Web Store.

When you open the store, select Add to Chrome and press Add Extension to the popup question.

Once downloaded, you'll see the Yoroi logo among your Chrome extensions on the top right. Click on it to open the wallet.

To make accessing your wallet easier, pin it to Chrome. Click the puzzle icon followed by the pin icon beside Yoroi Wallet.
